Merchandising

It used to be some stuff sold out of the van or maybe a couple of cd’s at the club.

Now, it’s the difference between a winning and losing tour. And as the game changes it will differentiate between the winning and losing bands. We feel that music is moving toward being free (not that we agree with that, but its just a fact) and there’s just too many bands out there.

So, are you going to set up a display at the show with the same t-shirt, cd, and bandana every other band has??

Let’s assume you’re playing venue “X”. Assume they have shows there 4 days a week. Assume that each of those shows has 3 bands on it. Ok, quick math here:

4 shows/week x 3 bands x 52 weeks = 624 merchandise displays at venue “X” per year!!!

Again, if you’re playing that venue YOU ARE COMPETING NOT AGAINST 3 BANDS – BUT 624 FOR MERCHANDISE MONEY!!!

People have seen, and are sick of, the “same old, same old”. That doesn’t mean they don’t want your music. IT JUST MEANS THEY WANT IT PRESENTED FRESHLY.
